Alusine ‘Wise Man’

Alusine comes from Sierra Leone’s capital, Freetown. When growing up he spent time with his father in an area known as Kroo Bay, ranked as one of the three worst places to live in the world. As one could imagine life growing up was difficult and the facilities Alusine was exposed to did little to aid in his development.

In 2010 Alusine’s life changed, and the best opportunity to grow and develop in the country came in the form of an Academy, where he was quickly identified as a talented individual, and awarded a scholarship for the Academy’s first intake of students.

In the classroom Alusine is a contemplative individual, who works consciously in all assignments, not finishing until he is sure that he has done the assignment correctly. Alusine often comes off as an old soul, as he connects with adults in his life easily and takes a thoughtful approach to his daily activities.

Alusine plays in goal, an impressive role considering the fields in Sierra Leone that are made of dirt, stones and dust. As a player he is skilled in the art of shot stopping, often reacting quickly to dangerous situations and making important saves.
